Getting there and get around
BY AIR
You can reach Johor by air via Kuala Lumpur of West Malaysia or via Kota Kinibalu and Kuching of East Malaysia.
BY ROAD AND RAIL
If you prefer to travel by land, you can go through the North-South Expressway from the north passing through major towns including the capital city Kuala Lumpur. From Singapore, you can enter Johor by road and rail via the Causeway as well as through the Second Link from Tuas passing through Gelang Patah.
BUS
Regular bus services cover almost every part of the country, and you can easily take an express bus into Singapore or Thailand.
CAR RENTAL
You can hire a car in one city and self-drive it to another and leave the car at a pre-designated stop. Please note that car rental formalities apply, and you'd better prepare yourself with excellent road map, an international driving license and insurance.
TAXIS
You can get a taxi ride to any part of the country. The law allows for four passengers and that you only pay your share of the ride, thus you don't need to hire the whole taxi if you can share the ride with passengers you either pick up en-route or those you make an arrangement with before departure.
BY SEA
If you want to use ferry service, you can disembark either at Tanjung Belungkor near Desaru, or at the Stulang Duty Free Trade Zone Ferry Terminal near the Johor Bahru city centre.
