Social & Business Visas If you have a good reason for staying longer (e.g. study or family reasons), you can apply for a ‘social & cultural visa'. You will need an application form from an Indonesian embassy or consulate, and possibly a letter of introduction or promise of sponsorship from someone in Indonesia.
You can apply for ‘social & cultural visa’ to stay longer for any reason, such as: study or family matters. The application form from an Indonesian embassy or consulate is required.
A letter of introduction or promise of sponsorship from someone in Indonesia is also beneficially needed. Initially it’s valid for a month, but it can be extended for one month at a time at an immigration office within Indonesia for a maximum of six months – if you can find a local guarantor.
Both the application and the extension fees are usually high. For a business visitor's visa, you will need verification that you are carrying out an essential jobs in Indonesia. Sometimes it’s easier, and even cheaper, to leave the country every two months and get a new tourist card than to get a visa and update it every month. |
