Telecommunication services  ‘Telkom’ is the government telecommunication office facilitating various telecommunication services, such as local, interlocal and international calls, send and receives faxes, mobile phones services, etc.
There are also a large number of telecommunication stalls, known as ‘Wartel’ (Warung Telekomunikasi) that also facilitate the same services. Pay phones cost around Rp. 100 for about a minute call, while the debit phone cards issued by Telkom can be used from the post offices, Wartels, airport, supermarkets, etc.
This handy cards are abundant for lower cost international calls, but will not allow calls to cellular handphones. A wide range of Internet Services are also mushrooming around the islands. You can still keep in touch with anybody in anywhere simply by utilizing the facilities. |
